Abstract
This paper represents results of the research on global wellness trends and potential with focus on Croatia. Overview of the current Croatian wellness market is provided. Global and European data are examined in order to see which are the trends that the Wellness industry in Croatia can expect in the future and what are the opportunities and chances of adapting to the trends, as well as creating new ones in the Croatia. Wellness is on a global level a highly profitable aspect of tourism. The perception of wellness has a broad range of different customs. The definitions of health and wellness tourism have been redefined a lot of times and evolved through the years so one aim of this bachelor thesis is also to shed light on the definition of the term wellness. In this thesis, according to the information from the relevant literature, wellness tourism is regarded as a part of health tourism. Croatian wellness tourism as well as health tourism in general has a lot of potential for further development due to the natural predispositions, expertise of the employees and suitable infrastructure, while there is still room for further improvements.

Ovaj rad predstavlja rezultat istraživanja globalnih trendova i potencijala u wellness industriji s fokusom na Hrvatsku. Načinjen je pregled wellness ponude u Hrvatskoj. Podatci za svijet i Europu su istraženi kako bi se moglo vidjeti koje trendove Hrvatska može očekivati u budućnosti i koje su prilike i mogućnosti prilagodbe na nove trendove, kao i kreiranja novih u Hrvatskoj. Wellness je na svjetskoj razini vrlo profitabilan aspekt turizma. Percepcija wellness-a je različita u različitim kulturama. Definicije zdravstvenog i wellness turizma su više puta kroz povijest bile mijenjane tako da je jedan cilj ovog završnog rada i pojasniti pojam wellness. U ovom radu, sukladno informacijama iz relevantne literature, wellness turizam se smatra dijelom, odnosno pod-kategorijom, zdravstvenog turizma. Hrvatski wellness turizam, kao i općenito zdravstveni turizam, ima puno potencijala za daljnji razvoj s obzirom na prirodne predispozicije, stručnost zaposlenika i odgovarajuću infrastrukturu, a ima i prostora za napredak.
