Abstract
MICE turizam je jedan od najbrže rastućih selektivnih oblika turizma na trenutnom dinamičnom i vrlo turbulentnom turističkom tržištu. MICE je akronim koji se sastoji od riječi meetings odnosno sastanci, incentives odnosno insentive (poticajna) putovanja, congresses odnosno kongresi i konferencije te exhibitions odnosno izložbe i sajmovi. Svaki od prethodno navedenih elemenata predstavlja akronim MICE koji se koristi kao drugi naziv za poslovni turizam. Razvitak MICE turizma u destinacijama je od velikog značaja za sami razvitak konkurentnosti turističkog razvoja destinacije, upravo zbog diferenciranosti proizvoda kojeg poslovni turizam nudi, a istodobno i smanjivanje sezonalnosti destinacija. Ovim diplomskim radom pokušava se prikazati mogućnost razvoja MICE turizma u gradu Osijeku kako bi se Osijeku, ali isto tako i istočnoj (kontinentalnoj) Hrvatskoj da poticaj i turistički razvoj koji bi proširivao destinaciju te ju konkurentski izdvajao na današnjem turističkom tržištu.
Abstract (english)
MICE tourism is one of the most growing selective forms of tourism in today's dynamic and turbulent tourism market. MICE is an acronym which concludes from words meetings incentives, congresses and exhibitions. Each and one of previously mentioned elements are presenting acronym MICE which is used as a second name for business tourism. The development of MICE tourism in destinations is of great importance because of it's competitive factors that it can bring when developing tourism destinations and ofcourse differentiate it's products and services. This paper attempts to illustrate possibilities of developing MICE Tourism in the City of Osijek, in order to give Osijek and part of east Continental Croatia, incentive and tourism development which would make destination competitive and develop much on today's tourism market.
