Tourism, as a branch of the economy of exceptional benefit in the Republic of Croatia, has experienced constant growth and development in the last few decades, and thus has grown globally. Precisely tourism is one, if not the leading, of the most successful economic branches of the Republic of Croatia, and for this very reason the role of tourism from the aspect of sustainable development is presented in this final work . Unfortunately, in the conditions of great expansion of tourism, there are problems that threa ten its survival and the survival of very important elements of the tourist offer of Croatia, such as its natural resources and beauties. Through the chapters of the paper, the concept of sustainable development in Croatian tourism is presented and the principles on which it is based and the goals it strives are presented. After getting acquainted with the concept of sustainable tourism, the paper presents the situation in which tourism in Croatia is today and analyzes the strategy that would make tourism sustainable. From the above, we want to answer the questions of how much Croatia is aware of when it comes to sustainable development in tourism. Also, whether it is at the level necessary for a destination like Croatia and whether the responsible minis tri e s have a hearing and do enough to develop and grow tourism in the right direction.
