Abstract
Les carnavals diffèrent par leur portée et leur emplacement. Bien qu'il puisse y avoir des moteurs dominants - par exemple, en relation avec le développement économique, la cohésion socioculturelle ou la conscience politique - les carnavals ont de multiples significations en fonction des lieux et des espaces qu'ils occupent. Le carnaval des sonneurs de cloches d’Halubaj fait partie de la longue tradition de cette petite ville rurale, où les participants du carnaval sont considérés comme les premiers annonciateurs du printemps, de sorte que l'heure du carnaval est ajustée à la date du début de printemps. Les principaux protagonistes sont des hommes vêtus de masques d'animaux traditionnels et de fourrures, qui visitent traditionnellement les villages voisins d’Halubaj dans l'arrière-pays de Rijeka depuis des centaines d'années, se déplaçant sur plusieurs kilomètres de routes traditionnelles. Le carnaval fait partie du Kvarner, mais aussi de la tradition croate et du patrimoine culturel et de l'identité nationale. En tant que tel, il a attiré l'attention de l'UNESCO, qui lui a attribué l'importance du patrimoine culturel croate. Les habitants d’Halubaj s'efforcent de préserver la richesse de cette tradition en la transmettant aux jeunes générations, dont le but n'est pas de s'amuser et de passer du temps, mais de perpétuer les traditions de leurs ancêtres depuis l'enfance et de préserver l'identité de leur communauté et souligner la richesse de la culture de leur lieu. Par conséquent, le rôle des sonneurs de cloches de Halubaj est l'un des plus importants dans le cadre de la promotion du carnaval de Halubaj dans le cadre de la culture croate à des fins touristiques. Abstract (english)
Carnivals differ in their scope and location. Although there may be dominant drivers – for example, in relation to economic development, socio-cultural cohesion or political awareness – carnivals have multiple meanings in relation to the places and spaces they occupy. Carnivals should be recognized for their intrinsic value to urban populations, not just for their use in place-making strategies. The carnival of the Halubaj bell ringers is part of the long-standing tradition of this small... More rural town, where the participants of the carnival are considered the first harbingers of spring, so the time of the carnival is adjusted to the date of the beginning of spring. The main protagonists are men dressed in traditional animal masks and furs, who have traditionally been visiting the neighboring villages of Halubaj in the Rijeka hinterland for hundreds of years, and moving along traditional roads spanning several kilometers. The carnival is part of Kvarner, but also Croatian tradition and cultural heritage and national identity. As such, it attracted the attention of UNESCO, which assigned it the importance of Croatian cultural heritage. The locals of Halubja try to preserve the wealth of this tradition by passing it on to the younger generations, whose goal is not to have fun and spend time, but to continue the tradition of their ancestors from childhood and preserve the identity of their community and the outstanding cultural wealth of their place. Therefore, the role of the Halubaj bell ringers is one of the most important in the context of the promotion of the Halubaj carnival as part of Croatian culture for tourism purposes. Less
