This research paper began with the idea of ​​the influence of professional practice on the choice of future employment students in tourism. The first part of the paper is focused on the concept of learning models, different ways of learning students, and the presence and effectiveness of professional practice in today's education system. Other parts of the work focus more on the quality and representation of professional practice within higher education institutions, such as how certain parts of professional practice affect the lives of students. The analysis concluded that attendance at professional practice at Croatian universities is, on average, the most represented within professional studies, while in university studies, that number varies depending on the type of study. Through a questionnaire, students were asked about the quality of the professional practice they attended during the course student years. The results of the questionnaire indicated the priorities that students expect from quality professional practices, such as paid work, the presence of a quality mentor, and different business locations during operation. The initial hypothesis that the quality of professional practice affects interest was confirmed for future work in tourism. Taking into account the results of the research, it was concluded that in a large percentage of cases, professional practice negatively affects the future choice of business within the tourism industry.
