Recently, festivals are often a recognizable offer of tourist destinations around the world. Despite the growing popularity of the festival in the Republic of Croatia, they have not been sufficiently developed and their potential is slowly being recognized. Festivals are linked to cultural tourism, which characterizes objects and contents of cultural orientation. Despite this connection in the Republic of Croatia still dominate the music festivals, although it is slowly evolving other forms of the festival, according to tourist demand. The paper explores the theoretical aspects of the role of the festival in a tourist offer while application research is conducted on an urban tourist destination - the city of Zagreb. The city of Zagreb has a rich offer of festivals that are constantly appearing as well as new sought-after festival forms. For the time being, the most successful food festivals like the Burger Festival in music festivals such as the INmusic festival. In the diplomatic work, a survey was conducted on the attitude of respondents to the roles in the tourist offer of the City of Zagreb. The aim of the research was to determine attitudes of respondents according to tourist attractions of the city of Zagreb and then to examine the festivals held in Zagreb. Since there is already a certain offer of music festivals in the city of Zagreb and a festival dedicated to leisure and hobbies, attention should be paid to festivals of tradition. Keywords:
