Strategic management which represents a basic work concept of companies and it can greately help tourist destination/town to boost its economic performances. Also, it is used to help reaching sport- tourism goals of destination, in this case for the city of Delnice becoming a center for center for athletes' basic physical preparation. This is really important for Delnice and its long- term future of sport tourism offer which is currently not adequate in the context of innovation by becoming the center for athletes. Another efficient tool which can be used for elevation is the blue ocean strategy because innovation and value (for the customers and for the company) are two key words that represents this type of strategy. Recognizing innovation in the offer of sport tourism is essential and it's key for success for anykind of business company. In this graduate thesis the current level of competitiveness and adequacy of sport tourism offer in Delnice was explored. Also, the current offer was tested in terms of proper fit for Delnice actually becoming the center for athletes basical physical preparations. Research has shown that quality of sports infrastructure is perceived as extremely important by the locals. Furthermore, quality of hotel and wellness offer is perceived as very important. At the same time, citizens of the City of Delnice are not satisfied with the actual quality of those elements which are the key for the success of sport training tourism. Anyway, locals believe that City od Delnice has potential to become center for athletes basical physical preparation. In addition to that, they support future investments in that direction.
