Abstract
Turizam za Republiku Hrvatsku predstavlja izuzetno važnu djelatnost, a razlog toga ponajprije se može tražiti u geografskom položaju Hrvatske i brojnim prednostima koje nudi Hrvatska kao turistička destinacija u pogledu iskoristivosti prirodnih resursa (more, sunce, priroda i slično). Uslijed ubrzanog procesa globalizacije i značajnog napretka informacijsko-komunikacije i digitalne tehnologije turizma poprima nove dimenzije. Drugim riječima, turisti iz različitih dijelova svijeta mogu putem online platformi rezervirati smještaj i usluge koje pruže različite turističke destinacije pa tako i Hrvatska. Važan alat za promociju Hrvatske kao turističke destinacije predstavlja Booking.com koji je dostupan u brojnim državama diljem svijeta. Za potrebe analize važnosti Booking.com za turizam Republike Hrvatske u završnom radu se analizira turizam na području Istarske županije, a za primjer su odabrane kuće za odmor na području Istre. Selekcija istih je vršena prema najboljim recenzijama koje su evidentirane na internet stranici Booking.com.
Abstract (english)
Tourism is an extremely important activity for the Republic of Croatia, and the reason for this can be found in the geographical position of Croatia and the numerous advantages offered by Croatia as a tourist destination in terms of natural resources (sea, sun, nature, etc.). Due to the accelerated process of globalization and significant advances in information and communication and digital technology, tourism is taking on new dimensions. In other words, tourists from different parts of the world can book accommodation and services provided by various tourist destinations, including Croatia, through online platforms. An important tool for promoting Croatia as a tourist destination is Booking.com, which is available in many countries around the world. For the purposes of analyzing the importance of Booking.com for tourism in the Republic of Croatia, the final paper analyzes tourism in the Istria County, and for example, holiday homes in Istria were selected. The selection of the same was done according to the best reviews recorded on the Booking.com website.
