The topic of this thesis is "Vandal behavior of tourists in the area of the city of Split". The work deals theoretically and practically with the phenomenon of vandalism, with an emphasis on its presence and influence in tourist destinations. Various aspects of this problem are investigated, including the perception of the local population, the measures taken by the city of Split to combat vandalism, as well as possible initiatives to prevent and reduce vandalism. The ethical behavior of tourists is an important aspect in preserving the cultural and natural heritage of the city, and therefore it is necessary to understand the various factors that contribute to vandalistic behavior. Through the research of the survey and the analysis of the results, this paper provides an insight into the attitudes of the local population towards the vandalistic behavior of tourists, as well as their perception of the measures taken by the city to combat vandalism. Analyzing the results of the research, key challenges and possible approaches in the prevention of vandalism are identified, emphasizing the need for educating tourists about the importance of preserving cultural and natural heritage, strengthening the presence of surveillance at tourist locations, and active participation of the local population in reporting acts of vandalism. This work contributes to a better understanding of the phenomenon of tourist vandalism and can serve as a basis for further research and the development of preventive strategies to preserve the cultural and natural identity of the city of Split.
