Communication is a term derived from the Latin word "communicatio" and it refers to the act of conveying information. Communication is essential for understanding and encompasses not only conversation and speech but also various other components such as body language. It can be defined as the process of transmitting a message from one person to another (Weick & Browning, 1986). Additionally, communication can be seen as a combination of social interaction and language skills. It is a fundamental function of every organization and a key element in the socialization of individuals, aiming to generate new ideas, receive information, and expand knowledge (Komorčec et al., 2007). For communication to be successful, the message must be transmitted to the recipient in the correct form and be understood in the same way the sender intended. Since one of the specificities of the hospitality industry is direct contact with guests, communication holds significant importance and often leaves the first impression about a hotel. Therefore, successful hotels invest considerable resources and efforts in educating their employees about proper communication with guests. In order to achieve guest satisfaction, every employee should know how to express themselves correctly, both verbally and non-verbally, and understand the interpretation of non-verbal communication. Additionally, they should be familiar with different cultures, their norms, and the behavior patterns that are characteristic and acceptable for a particular nationality.
