Abstract
Predmet su istraživanja ovoga rada trendovi na turističkome tržištu, turistička ponuda i potražnja u međunarodnom turizmu, suvremeni trendovi te kvalitativni i kvantitativni trendovi. Nadalje, željelo se prikazati glavne čimbenike koji utječu na promjene turističkih trendova. Navedeno je da su to prvenstveno različiti globalizacijski procesi koji su usko vezani za sve brži razvoj tehnologije, različitih digitalnih aplikacija i društvenih medija. Istaknuta je velika važnost klimatskih promjena, pandemija te političke nestabilnosti i sveprisutnijeg terorizma. Rad se posebno bavio utjecajem trendova na turistički razvoj Dubaija i na njegovu promociju u svijetu. Napravljena je analiza Dubaija kao turističkog centra Bliskog Istoka, prikazana je uloga turizma i globalnih trendova u njegovu naglom razvoju te strategija razvoja grada i budućeg turističkog razvoja. Na temelju provedene analize zaključeno je da je turizam uz naftna bogatstva glavni čimbenik razvoja grada, te da se budući razvoj temelji na održivosti.
Abstract (english)
The subject of this research is the trends in the tourism market, including tourism supply and demand in international tourism, contemporary trends, and both qualitative and quantitative trends. Furthermore, the main factors influencing changes in tourism trends were examined. It was noted that these are primarily various globalization processes closely linked to the rapid development of technology, different digital applications, and social media. The importance of climate change, pandemics, political instability, and the pervasive threat of terrorism was highlighted. The paper particularly focused on the impact of these trends on the tourism development of Dubai and its promotion worldwide. An analysis was conducted on Dubai as the tourism hub of the Middle East, showcasing the role of tourism and global trends in its rapid development, as well as the city's development strategy and future tourism growth. Based on the conducted analysis, it was concluded that tourism, along with oil wealth, is the main factor in the city's development, and that future growth will be based on sustainability.
