Health tourism was one of the fastest-growing niches of tourism, but when the COVID-19 pandemic happened, everything stopped, including health tourism. Although it has been decimated due to various decisions aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19, there is optimism that health tourism will recover quickly and surpass the results it had before the pandemic. But in order for that to be possible, it is necessary to adapt to the new conditions and aspirations of tourists who just want to relax after the pandemic and recover from the stress caused by the pandemic. Medical and wellness tourism are two different branches of health tourism that have different perceptions of well-being and health of tourists, because of these same differences in the approach they reacted differently to the effects of the pandemic but due to their predispositions and health care they quickly adapted to New expectations of tourists are coming to the new normal, and from now on they are looking for new and innovative ways to access them, as well as greater and better protection, and more and more tourists are turning to taking care of themselves after the pandemic. Health tourism has the opportunity not only to improve tourism but also to contribute to the oblivion of mass tourism and to contribute to the sustainable development of destination tourism as well as to improve the perception of tourists of their own well-being.
