A beach can most simply be defined as a area along the sea, river, or lake that is designed for swimming. However, this area plays an important role in the lives of coastal area residents and is a high-quality space for relaxation and entertainment. It is an important economic and recreational resource and a main factor of global tourism, which requires proper management. In Croatia, the responsibility for managing beaches lies with regional and local governments through concessions and permits on maritime property. Concessions and permits on maritime property are regulated by the Concessions Act and the Maritime Domain and Seaports Act. A concession means approval or permission and is a right acquired through a contract. This right allows for partial or complete exclusion of a part of the maritime domain from public use, while a concession permit does not exclude or limit the use of maritime property. Concessions are granted for a period of 5 to 99 years, while permits range from 2 to 5 years. The city of Poreč, located on the western coast of Istria, is one of the most famous Croatian destinations on the Adriatic. It is known for its rich history, cultural heritage, and natural beauty. The beaches in Poreč encompass various types of coastlines, from pebbly and sandy to rocky, meeting the diverse needs of visitors. The destination of Poreč has a total of 37 beaches, most of which are developed. This indicates their accessibility to all visitors, including individuals with reduced mobility. The theming of beaches in the destination is in the early stages of development, with some signs indicating specific themes for certain beaches. The chapter before the conclusion will present the results of a survey conducted among the local population of Poreč and its surroundings. The aim of the research is to review the satisfaction of the local population with the management of Poreč beaches.
