The purpose of this master`s thesis is to define key standards that are crucial for successful business in hospitality industry. These standards are results of process of standardization which gives same desired characteristics of hospitality products and services. Firstly this thesis explains the term and characteristics of fast food industry.Secondly, it explains terms of standards and standardization process, and describes mostly known and used standards in the world. Thirdly it describes McDonald`s, the largest company in fast food industry, company`s history,business strategies, an reasons why is it one of the biggest corporations in the world. Fourthly, it analyzes survey information obtained on domestic and US market, about consumer behavior and attitudes about fast food and implementation of standards in McDonald`s restaurants by current or former employees. During analyzes process both hypothesis were strongly confirmed; consumers are satisfied with McDonald`s products and services and McDonald`s applies to industry standards. Despite negative consumer attitude regarding prices and effects and impact of fast food health wise, most of the respondents consumes these products because of taste and to save time. Respondents, both consumers and current or former employees agree that McDonald`s complies with HACCP, ISO and GMP standards. Thesis contains graphs, pictures, tables and surveys completed by the respondents.Purpose of this thesis is to explain significance of applying appropriate standards in hospitality industry, and to credit the effort and innovations of McDonald`s that is identified with unhealthy bad and low quality food. Aim of this thesis comes from hypotheses and subject of research - i. e., standards innovations and quality lead to satisfied customers
