Selective forms of tourism are increasingly represented on the tourist market. They are tailored to the modern tourist. Selective forms of tourism are experiencing numerous changes of high intensity, which leads to many innovations in modern business conditions. Wellness is a name that refers to an approach to health and a lifestyle that improves it. Wellness also means a wide range of services and products for achieving and maintaining quality of life, health and a sense of well-being. The analysis of the wellness economy in the Republic of Croatia showed not so enviable results, but it also showed some positive things that predict further progress and direction towards the goal. The heterogeneity of tourist demand is characterized by a wide spectrum of tourist needs. These needs should be met at different destinations regardless of the time. Participants are expected to adapt products and services more to specific groups of customers. The wellness offer is diverse and depends on the type of consumer. The wellness service is in the holistic segment in Croatia. It has achieved high competitiveness in relation to the environment. The strategy indicates the need to strengthen medical wellness, but also a stronger positioning of the hotel towards the health market. The main potentials of Croatia in the development of this type of tourism are professional employees, natural resources, standard medical services, the sea, medicinal waters, a rich gastronomic offer, an interesting history and the preservation of the eco system. With further development, Croatia should achieve much better results and have large revenues from wellness tourism.
