Tourism is tertiary activity that is becoming an increasingly important part of the economy of every country, including the Republic of Croatia. In recent years, it has become one of the most important economic activities in our country. In this paper, a tourist-geographical analysis of the City of Rovinj as a destination on the tourist market is performed. The city of Rovinj is located in the west of the Istrian peninsula, which is an area of Mediterranean climate that allows it a successful summer tourist season, as well as many other geographical factors that are discussed below. Its geographical position is ideal for visitors from almost all over Europe, and most of them are from Austria, Germany, Italy...Rovinj is known as a car destination which was very important to visitors during the Covid-19 pandemic. In recent years, this city has broken tourist records, which earned it the title of Champion of Tourism in Croatia. The city is increasingly investing in its infrastructure while larger companies and enterprises are investing in tourist facilities such as luxury hotels and marinas. Swot analysis shows the shows the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of this destination in the tourism scene. The biggest advantage that the City of Rovinj should use is its geographical position. It is close to all more developed European countries and the Mediterranean climate prevails, which also enhances its popularity in the tourism market.
