The revolution in the advancement of mobile telephony began with smartphones at the beginning of the 21st century when Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone mobile device in 2007 when the Android operating system was simultaneously introduced. The thesis aims to show the role of smartphones in the process of making travel decisions. The paper seeks to point out the significant importance smartphones have in travel planning, tourist activities, and the further development of humanity. The competition between iPhone and Android mobile devices stands out in modern global business. The iOS operating system was designed for iPhone devices and was created as part of the Apple Store, through which users can download thousands of applications. The technological development of the mobile industry is constantly increasing. Over the years, smartphones have become more than the same devices people use to send messages and make calls. Smartphones have become, in a way, personal assistants of every person who owns them, and through various functionalities, they make everyday processes and carrying out activities easier. Further development of mobile technologies, investment in the expansion of knowledge, and implementation of the same in the years to come will take on even greater importance in tourist activities, consumer behavior, and travel planning and organization.
